The Speedball Text Book from 1948, 88 pages. Jam packed with sample alphabets and instructions for the letterer. I broke out the speedball nibs I have and did a page's worth of practicing, and it wasn't too bad. I improved right away...

I also did this business card, but I'm not sure I'm happy with the font: this is Futura Book. I feel like the real old-time face I'm after was a little squarer or something...I'm keeping an eye out

I picked up three of these American Geographical Society "Around the World Programs" at the library book sale a few weeks ago. Each has a beautiful map cover, and nice two-color spot illustrations on the inside.
