Sweater Thieves
Welcome to my BLOG. I post my weekly comic strips here and other articles about comics and cartooning, mostly. There's some miscellaneous pictures in the earlier posts. My "business card" website is RELIABLECOMICS.COM. I also operate GLUYASWILLIAMS.COM. Look around.

OH!
I didn't see this right away, and now you're in trouble. Get ready for the longest blog
comment in the history of the entire internet!
This TOTALLY looks like it could be in the Hanna Barbera Huckleberry Hound Giant Storybook, published by Whitman in 1961 and illustrated by Frank McSavage.

It takes many of the original H&B TV cartoons and adapts them into short stories. There are only two colors of ink in the entire book--BLACK and BLUE. I found a beat-up copy of the book on eBay a few years ago, but I knew it before from visiting my Grandmother, who has seven kids and now.. uh... 15 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Holy F#ç%. Way back when, there were massive Crisafulli Tribal Gatherings almost every Sunday and they were UNBEARINGLY CACAPHONIC with just about as much frequency. I'd often sneak upstairs when no one was looking
and have a look at the books and toys left over from generations past. The Huck book was a favorite. I'd slide the ancient dusty tome off its shelf and get 100% immersed.
My favorite story in there is the one where Pixie and Dixie are students, and Dixie is so bored that he realizes he has the ABILITY--- to FLY --- using only--- HIS EARS!! Thanks to the early days of Cartoon Network, I later became very familiar with the actual cartoon. Somehow it just doesn't compare to its much cheaper, pulpy counterpart in the Whitman book.
That's neat. Thanks for posting!
